We’ve always believed that good food brings people together—and sometimes, the best way to move forward is to take the road less traveled. That’s been our story since the very beginning.

It all started back in 1954 as Philip Green & Co. Ltd. Fast forward to 1978, when the Patel family saw an opportunity and jumped in with both feet. With a lot of vision (and probably more than a few late nights), they reimagined the business and renamed it Pantry Shelf Food Corporation. Their dream? To connect Canadians with incredible foods from around the world, and to build a distribution company that was known for reliability, service, and a dash of bold thinking.

Over the decades, that dream grew. Pantry Shelf became a trusted name in food service—recognized coast-to-coast for quality products that chefs and kitchens could count on. But why stop there? We knew people at home deserved the same great options, so we expanded into retail with our Everybody’s brand. Now you can find our products on shelves across the country, slowly but surely becoming household staples.

Of course, the journey hasn’t always been easy (when is it ever?). But passion, persistence, and a love for what we do have carried us through. Today, we’re still driven by the same promise: quality food, happy customers, and a commitment to keep growing. Because at the end of the day, great food should be for everybody.
